The range has been expanded further with the addition of the digital displacement sensor \u2013 D6P\/S which has all the excellent features of standard digital displacement sensors but is only 6 mm in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>The 6 mm diameter gauging probes like all Solartron\u2019s digital displacement sensors and displacement transducers can be combined using the Orbit Digital Measurement Network to quickly build a gauging system with sensors that operate and are calibrated straight from the box.<\/p>\n<p>Like a conventional LVDT, the displacement probe tip is pushed out using an internal spring. The precision bearings inside the digital displacement senor ensure precise positioning of the contact sensor tip. When the air is off the probe tips are automatically withdrawn enabling the part to be placed inside the gauge without contacting the displacement transducer tip.
