Kekerasan suatu material harus diketahui khususnya untuk material yang dalam penggunaanya akan mangalami pergesekan (frictional force) dan deformasi plastis. Deformasi plastis sendiri suatu keadaan dari suatu material ketika material tersebut diberikan gaya maka struktur mikro dari material tersebut sudah tidak bisa kembali ke bentuk asal artinya material tersebut tidak dapat kembali ke bentuknya semula. Lebih ringkasnya kekerasan didefinisikan sebagai kemampuan suatu material untuk menahan beban indentasi atau penetrasi (penekanan).<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h2><strong>Apa yang dimaksud dengan Uji Kekerasan material\/bahan <em>(Hardness Test)<\/em> ??<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Uji kekerasan adalah pengujian yang paling efektif untuk menguji kekerasan dari suatu material, karena dengan pengujian ini kita dapat dengan mudah mengetahui gambaaran sifat mekanis suatu material. Meskipun pengukuran hanya dilakukan pada suatu titik, atau daerah tertentu saja, nilai kekerasan cukup valid untuk menyatakan kekuatan suatu material.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan melakukan uji kekerasan, material logam khususnya dapat dengan mudah di golongkan sebagai material ulet atau getas, mikro struktur jenis material melalui Analisa metalurgi dan lainnya.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 3\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h2><strong>Tujuan dari Uji kekerasan material atau bahan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Uji kekerasan adalah\u00a0pengujian nilai kekerasan dari suatu material, yang mana pengujian ini dapat kita ketahui gambaran sifat mekanis dari suatu material\/bahan. Meskipun pengukuran hanya dilakukan pada suatu titik, atau daerah tertentu saja. Nilai kekerasan akan memastikan, menggambarkan kekuatan dari suatu material tersebut. Idealnya, pengujian Brinnel diperuntukan untuk material yang memiliki permukaan yang kasar dengan uji kekuatan berkisar 500-3000 kgf. Identor (Bola baja) biasanya telah dikeraskan dan diplating ataupun terbuat dari bahan Karbida Tungsten.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Rockwell (HR \/ HRN\u00a0 )<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pengujian kekerasan dengan metode Rockwell bertujuan menentukan kekerasan suatu material dalam bentuk daya tahan material terhadap indentor berupa bola baja ataupun kerucut intan yang ditekankan pada permukaan material uji tersebut.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 180px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/dynatech-int.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/Uji_Hardness_Test.png\" alt=\"Rockwell (HR \/ HRN\u00a0)\" width=\"329\" height=\"244\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/dynatech-int.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/rockwell.png\" alt=\"Rockwell \" width=\"561\" height=\"237\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 5\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h3><strong>Vickers\/Microvickers (HV \/ VHN)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pengujian kekerasan dengan metode Vickers bertujuan menentukan kekerasan suatu material dalam yaitu daya tahan material terhadap indentor intan dan mempunyai bentuk geometri berbentuk pyramid. Beban yang dikenakan juga jauh lebih kecil dibanding dengan pengujian Rockwell dan Brinnel yaitu antara 1 sampai 1000\/2000gr (microvickers).
