  • Spring actuation contact sensor
  • Standard gauge probe tip force 0.7N (other options available)
  • Displacement sensor with IP65 sealing
  • Superior performance compared to traditional Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) displacement sensors

The good features of the conventional LVDT sensor combined with Solartron’s digital technology have resulted in a range of digital displacement sensors that provide the gauge builder with cost-effective solutions. The range has been expanded further with the addition of the digital displacement sensor – D6P/S which has all the excellent features of standard digital displacement sensors but is only 6 mm in diameter.

The 6 mm diameter gauging probes like all Solartron’s digital displacement sensors and displacement transducers can be combined using the Orbit Digital Measurement Network to quickly build a gauging system with sensors that operate and are calibrated straight from the box.

Like a conventional LVDT, the displacement probe tip is pushed out using an internal spring. The precision bearings inside the digital displacement senor ensure precise positioning of the contact sensor tip. At the same time, the unique bearing design provides repeatable measurements even when the displacement transducer is subjected to mechanical side loads.

Digital Gauge Probes Narrow Body | Pneumatic Push D6J/P

Digital Gauge Probes Narrow Body | Pneumatic Push D6J/P

  • 6 mm in diameter
  • Excellent for measuring features close together
  • 2, 5 and 12 mm displacement transducer measuring ranges
  • Accuracy better than 0.1 µm
  • Repeatability better than 0.05 µm
  • Resolution better than 0.01 µm
  • Range of linear displacement contact sensor tips available
  • The pneumatic actuation contact sensor
  • Standard gauge probe tip force 0.7 N with 1 bar pressure
  • Superior performance compared with traditional Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) displacement sensors

The pneumatic versions of the narrow-body digital displacement sensors (gauge probes) provide users with an effective solution to build automatic gauges for precision measurements of multiple parts. When the air is off the probe tips are automatically withdrawn enabling the part to be placed inside the gauge without contacting the displacement transducer tip. The narrow body displacement sensors facilitate checking of features that are close together which could not easily be measured using standard digital displacement sensors or conventional LVDT sensors.

Solartron Metrology has reduced the diameter of these displacement sensors without compromising the reliability, life or performance.

Digital Gauge Probes 3mm Body | Spring Push D3P/S

Digital Gauge Probes 3mm Body | Spring Push D3P/S

  • 3 mm diameter body
  • One of the smallest diameter displacement sensors in the world
  • Excellent for measuring features close together
  • 1 mm displacement transducer measuring range
  • Accuracy better than 0.1 µm
  • Repeatability better than 0.25 µm
  • Resolution better than 0.01 µm
  • Spring actuation contact sensor
  • Standard tip force of 0.5 N
  • IP50 sealing
  • Superior performance when compared with traditional LVDT sensors

Quite possibly the world’s thinnest displacement transducer (gauge probe), the tiny 3 mm diameter allows for even tighter packing densities for measuring features on intricate parts.

Digital Gauge Probes Ultra Short | Spring Push DZ/S

Digital Gauge Probes Ultra Short | Spring Push DZ/S

  • Ultra short body length
  • Ideal for measuring in small places
  • 1 or 2 mm displacement transducer measuring ranges
  • Accuracy better than 0.1 µm
  • Repeatability better than 0.05 µm
  • Resolution better than 0.01 µm
  • Range of linear displacement contact sensor tips available
  • Spring actuation contact sensor
  • IP65 sealing
  • Superior performance when compared with traditional Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT) displacement transducers

The DZ range of gauge probes is probably the shortest available on the market with a fully calibrated linear displacement measuring range of 1 mm or 2 mm. The unique bearing design creates a very short probe body while still maintaining the performance of a standard LVDT probe.
