Eyepieces
Eyepieces should be ordered with any EM Series stereo microscope. Super wide field 10x eyepieces (MA502) are the most common, but some prefer to have more than one pair so they can easily change the total magnification of their microscopes.

Auxiliary Objective Lenses
Auxiliary lenses can be added to EM Series microscope bodies simply by screwing them into the threads below the objectives. They can either increase or decrease total magnification, but they are frequently used to increase the working distance of the microscope.

Oblique Viewing Attachment
The one-touch engagement of the Oblique Viewing Attachment allows you to quickly change from vertical to oblique viewing, and the viewing angle can be quickly adjusted with a thumb screw. Once the viewing angle has been properly set, rotating the attachment with your fingertips allows you to view the specimen from all sides. The entire attachment can be easily removed or re-attached by loosening one set screw.

Focusing Holders
Focusing holders hold the microscope body and contain the mechanism that raises or lowers the body to focus on the specimen.
Complete stands include their own focusing holders. But for other kinds of tasks, however, it may be necessary to mount the microscope body on a boom arm stand or directly onto a machine or some other surface. Click here to see the complete range of focusing holders.
Polarizing Accessories
Protective Glass Covers
Protective glass covers are designed to protect the objective lenses at the bottom of the microscope in situations where they may be contaminated by corrosive vapors, coated with residue, or struck by flying debris. Especially useful for those who solder circuit boards, machine small parts, or use high-pressure cleaning and air tools under the microscope.

Filar Eyepiece Micrometer
The Filar eyepiece micrometer is a combination of a focusing eyepiece and reticle, but features a moveable line rule. The Filar micrometer avoids the necessity to estimate fractions of a division on a stage micrometer which may render inaccurate readings.
For the MA414, the reticle scale has a travel distance of 8 millimeters. The knob of the micrometer screw is also divided into 100 intervals, so that one interval of the knob division corresponds to 0.1 interval of the eyepiece scale. One full rotation of the knob translates the measuring line across one interval of the eyepiece scale.

Stages
The addition of a mechanical stages allow you to move specimens smoothly under the microscope, and also helps to protect specimens from damage and contamination. Meiji Techno offers both graduated and un-graduated stages for our pole and rigid-arm stands, as well as larger sliding stages for use with our boom and wide surface stands. Micrometers
Microscope micrometers are commonly used for measuring or counting specimens. Eyepiece micrometers (also referred to as "reticules") are small glass discs with markings on them. The micrometer is mounted in one of the two eyepieces and superimposes an image of the markings over the image of the specimen. Stage micrometers are slides with markings of a known dimension that, when viewed under the microscope, can be used to calibrate eyepiece micrometers.
Photo/Video Accessories
Capturing video or photographic images through Meiji Techno microscopes is a very common and relatively straightforward practice. Nearly all Meiji Techno microscopes are available in trinocular models designed for just this purpose. The components listed below will allow you to mount your 35mm film or digital SLR camera on any of our trinocular model microscopes.
You will need three components to attach a 35mm camera body onto a trinocular tube:
T2-1 Canon
T2-2 Minolta
T2-3 Pentax K
T2-4 Pentax S (threaded)
T2-5 Nikon |
T2-6 Olympus
T2-7 Contax, Yashica
T2-8 Konica
T2-9 Canon EOS
T2-10 Minolta Alpha/Maxim 2000 |
 |
The T2 adapter rings attach directly to your camera body's lens mount. |

MA512 2.5x magnification
MA500 3.3x magnification (with reticle mount)
MA508 5x magnification
Photo eyepieces perform the same function as the standard 35mm camera lens (i.e. focusing the image at the plane of the film). |

MA150/50 Straight-tube camera attachment
MA150/60 Camera attachment with built-in focusing eyepiece
These are used to mount the camera assembly onto the trinocular tube of the microscope.

Replacement Bulbs
Light bulbs in microscope illuminators need to be replaced periodically. The bulbs on this page are most commonly used in our illumination systems. However, some older models or specialized microscopes may use bulbs not listed here. If you cannot find the correct bulb, contact our technical support staff will be happy to assist you.
